What an incredible place, the Grand Canyon is. I spent a lovely couple of hours watching the sunset over the canyon in the company of around 50 photographers, each hoping to get an original take on this view. I just managed to get a standard postcard image. But I’m happy that I had the opportunity to visit this site place which just fills you with awe.
I went back to Porthmeor hoping for a better sunset last night, and I was rewarded. What a great place.
I missed a fantastic sunset on the evening before this one, and the sunset on this evening was not fantastic but there was some nice colours over the Island on Porthmeor.
This sunset was pretty awesome, with the streaks of light bouncing off the bottom of the clouds.
One of the evenings we were staying in Havana we took an ancient taxi across from the old town to get a view from the castle back across the canal to the city.
We loved Trinidad in Cuba. There are certainly lots of great photo opportunities. One of the really nice places to get a view of the town is by climbing the bell tower of the church. We did this as the sunset one evening and was treated to a fantastic display as the sun slipped below the horizon over the sea.
We stayed in what is laughingly called a campsite. We were pointed in the direction of some sand dunes looking directly on to the Mittens. We pitched our tent and in the morning it was like waking up in a John Wayne movie. The site did have washrooms and a office which had wifi, and depending on the direction of the wind, the wifi occasionally reached to the tent some 20 metres further into the sand dunes. A wonderful place.
We had a lovely few days in Venice last week. The weather was warm, the city beautiful, and the skies lovely colours. I met with my good friend for coffee and chats about her business, and we got to spend some fun time with my mum and aunt. There should be some other shots coming, but for now here is a sunset image taken from a restaurant in Arsenale looking towards Salute and the Grand Canal.
