As I get used to my new light-weight Fuji camera, I took it out to a small wooded area of a local park near my in-laws to try and use it in a landscape environment. I had only brought a mini-tripod (about a 30cm tall). The shot uses a 1 second exposure to get the milky effect on the water running over the rapid.

One of the most amazing trips I’ve been lucky enough to go on was to New Zealand over Christmas and New Year in 2013/14. Towards the end of our trip we went on a boat trip on Milford Sound. We had great weather on the first day, kayaking and swimming from the boat. Taking pictures of the waterfalls that cascade down the sides of the fjords. The next morning we woke up to mist and rain and fog. A totally different experience.

These falls are fantastic. A very nice walk down to the falls (about 2 miles), and then you can walk behind the falls. Not too much water coming down today, but great to see it anyway.
